The invisible wounds of service are often the hardest to heal. Post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, and the challenges of reintegration affect a significant portion of veterans and first responders — yet too many suffer in silence because they do not know where to turn or feel that asking for help is a sign of weakness. At Sentinel VI Foundation, we believe the opposite: seeking support is an act of strength.
The SixStrong Resilience Program
Our SixStrong Resilience program is designed specifically for veterans, first responders, and their families who are navigating the mental health challenges that come with service. The program operates on a simple principle: resilience is not something you are born with — it is something you build, and building it is easier when you are not doing it alone.
SixStrong offers access to peer support networks, resilience training workshops, and connections to licensed mental health professionals who specialize in veteran and first responder care. All program services are provided at no cost to participants.
Key Resources Available
- Peer Support Networks: Connect with fellow veterans and first responders who understand what you are going through.
- Resilience Workshops: Structured programs focused on building coping skills, emotional regulation, and post-service identity.
- Professional Referrals: Connections to licensed therapists and counselors with specialized training in military and first responder trauma.
- Family Support: Resources for spouses, children, and family members affected by a loved one's service.
Beyond Sentinel VI
While our programs are designed to fill critical gaps, we also want to ensure that every veteran and first responder knows about the broader network of support available to them:
- Veterans Crisis Line: Call 988, then press 1. Available 24/7 for veterans in crisis.
- SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-4357. Free, confidential support for mental health and substance use.
- VA Mental Health Services: Visit your local VA medical center or visit va.gov for telehealth options.
"Asking for help is not a weakness. It is the same courage that carried you through your service, redirected toward your own healing. You earned this support — use it." — Matthew Young, Executive Director
