What is the Sentinel Scholar Initiative

The Sentinel Scholars Initiative provides annual merit‑ and need‑based scholarships to veterans, first responders, and eligible dependents pursuing degrees or technical certifications aligned with service‑oriented careers, including data science, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, public administration, and mental health services. Typical awards range from $500 to $5,000 per recipient per year. Priority consideration is extended to Gold Star families and service‑disabled veterans.

Who is Eligible?

The Sentinel Scholars Initiative is open to U.S. military veterans, first responders, and their eligible dependents. Applicants must provide proof of service or relationship (such as a DD-214, agency ID, or official letter) and be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited degree or recognized certification program. A personal essay (1,000–1,500 words) and one reference letter are required. GPA is considered but carries less weight, ensuring non-traditional students are equally welcome.
